In February 2005 UNDP Afghanistan, in close collaboration with the Government and international donors, established SEAL - Support for an Effective Afghan Legislature. SEAL helped to set-up a new parliament for Afghanistan after 33 years without a democratic legislature.

Since 2005, SEAL continues to support Parliamentarians, staff development, public outreach, and infrastructure.  The SEAL project works with Parliamentarians to help strengthen the National Assembly in Afghanistan, and in close partnership with Parliament’s Secretariat to build staff support for MPs and Senators.
